About us

NSW Seniors Week is an annual NSW Government event program presented by Ageing Disability and Home Care (ADHC). It is the largest celebration for seniors in the southern hemisphere. The theme, LIVE LIFE, aims to encourage seniors to actively participate in one of the 900 events taking place during Seniors Week each year.

Who attends NSW Seniors Week events?

NSW Seniors Week is a celebration for people aged 60 and older. It is also for people aged 50 and older who have a lifelong disability or people who are of Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander descent.

What is the purpose of NSW Seniors Week?

NSW Seniors Week promotes positive attitudes towards ageing. It is a celebration of older people in regional and metropolitan NSW, acknowledging their continuing contribution to family, friends, workplaces and their communities.

Each year, seniors are encouraged to try something different, learn new skills and make new friends by participating in one of the 900 free or specially discounted events, including:

  • computer training classes
  • entertainment
  • food and wine
  • tours and visits
  • health and fitness

Ambassadors are high-profile, prominent and respected figures selected each year to endorse and promote the overall objectives of NSW Seniors Week through the media and attendance at events.
