Seniors Week Concerts
2015 Premier's Seniors Week Gala Concerts
The Premier's Gala Concerts are a popular celebration for seniors, produced by the NSW Government. The concerts are free for NSW residents aged 60 years or over.
The 2015 Seniors Week Concerts were held 17 - 18 March 2015 at the Qantas Credit Union Arena, the venue formerly known as the Sydney Entertainment Centre.
About the show:
The bright lights of the entertainment capital of the world were switched on this year with a spectacular Viva Las Vegas themed show paying tributes to the greatest stars of the Las Vegas Strip, including Frank Sinatra, Sammy Davis Jr and the Rat Pack, Elvis Presley, Cher, Barry Manilow, Liza Minnelli, Tom Jones and Shirley Bassey.
Audiences were thrilled with an extravaganza featuring some of Australia’s finest voices including Michael Falzon, Kate Maree Hoolihan, Matt Lee, Samantha Hagen and host Jonathan Biggins, joined by the ‘Las Vegas showband’, backing vocalists from the Australian Institute of Music, dancers from ED5International, and one of Australia’s premier aerial acts Debonair, who performed graceful and astonishing feats high above the stage.
With four sold-out concerts at the Qantas Credit Union Arena in Sydney, close to 40,000 seniors were in attendance at this year’s concerts. Patrons were welcomed to the arena by the ever-popular NSW Police Band and had the chance to visit the NSW Seniors Week Expo, held alongside the gala concerts. Featuring information, giveaways and competitions from NSW Government, commercial and community exhibitors, the Expo continues to grow in size and popularity.
Please note that Seniors Christmas Concerts are no longer held in Sydney. They are now presented across regional New South Wales.
