Skydiving seniors launch week
A plucky bunch of over 60's is launching the 50th NSW Seniors Week (6-13 April) with a daring skydiving record attempt.
The eight seniors are skydiving from 14,000 feet above a North Wollongong beach on Tuesday 1 April. They hope to trump the Australian record for the number of seniors freefalling and linking up in a mid-air formation, currently six.
The record attempt forms part of the mass celebrations planned for NSW Seniors Week. Running under the LIVE LIFE banner from 6-13 April, it is the southern hemisphere’s biggest celebration for older people, boasting more than 700 events.
